(American History) Cold War Era: 1945-1991

Communism vs. Free Enterprise. United States vs. Soviet Union. In the aftermath of World War lay the start of the Cold War. Though the Soviet Union and America never officially fired shots at each other, the containment policy lead to the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. The Cuban Missile Crisis threatened American shores and the Space Race pushed American engineering to be the best in the world. The Cold War era ended as the Soviet Union collapsed.
